Laying rumours to rest, Yahoo has finally acquired video broadcasting platform RayV for an undisclosed amount.
RayV, which is known for its ability to deliver high-quality video streams to a number of people simultaneously, announced the acquisition on its website.
“We are excited to announce we are joining Yahoo’s Cloud Platforms and Services Team!” wrote RayV. “Our RayV adventure now comes to a pivot, and we couldn’t be more excited. We believe Yahoo will be a perfect fit for our people and capabilities, as Video and Mobile offerings are a central part of Yahoo’s vision.”
The video broadcasting company has been mum about its technology except its broad marketing speech wherein it claims that it is a “full end-to-end solution that enables improved high quality streaming for our online and mobile video content partners.”
We believe that Yahoo has acquired RayV to not only strengthen its existing video infrastructure, but also to support its ongoing efforts to ramp up its Yahoo Screen online video efforts.
We are yet to come across other details about the acquisition and as soon as we hear something, we will let you know.
