Sony has sent out press invites to a select few media outlets for an event wherein it is going to launch a new member in its PlayStation family.
“Following the biggest launch in PlayStation history, join us for an introduction to the slimmest,” reads the invite received by IGN UK. The event has been organised over a breakfast on January 30 between 9 and 11 AM.
Considering the word ‘slimmest’ in the invite, we can place out bets on PS Vita Slim, which is already available in Japan. The PS Vita Slim is not only 20 percent thinner than the existing model it is also 15 percent lighter. Further, the new slim variant of the Vita has an LCD display instead of the OLED screen of the original Vita.
We are not sure what the device will be, but there are those who speculate that Sony could reveal a new PlayStation 3 Slim. This is highly unlikely as the PS3 already has had two revisions in its lifetime.
PlayStation 4 slim is also rumoured, but this is something that we will stay away from entirely. The reason is Sony wouldn’t want to jeopardize the sales of its original PS4 with a slim variant when its original PlayStation 4 has done incredible well.
