Samsung will be flooding the market in 2014 with tablets of all screen sizes starting at 7-inch right through to 12-inch and the cheapest one would be its 7-inch Galaxy Tab 3 Lite at just £80 ($129).
Rumours indicate the possibility of 10-inch and 12-inch tablets from Samsung and that’s what the upstream supply chain is also talking about. Samsung will bring out as many 12 different tablets in 2014 in a bid to cater to needs of customers in all segments. Each of its 7-, 8-, 10- and 12-inch tablets will be categorized into three series – Lite, Mainstream and Pro.
The low outlay of Galaxy Tab 3 Lite is aimed at other vendors who are releasing low priced tablets including Acer and HP. HP’s $89 and Acer’s $129 tablets have managed to garner enough attention and other vendors are also taking notice of the this particular segment.
According to DigiTimes, Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite will feature a 7-inch display with 1,024 x 600 resolution, Cortex A9 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, 3-megapixel camera and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. It seems that the guys over at the publication have goofed up and mentioned 1GB storage, but we believe it should be 1GB RAM. The tablet will launch either in black or white and may come in 8 and 16 GB storage options.
These specifications are a little different from what was rumoured earlier.
