The first version of Hudl is now available for just £79 as Tesco is offering a £40 discount on the original price of £119 – a move that is direct result of recent unveiling of the Hudl 2.
There is no information on the duration of the price reduction, but because Hudl 2 is already on sale we believe that Tesco will be looking to get rid of all the inventory of the previous-gen Hudl to concentrate on its latest tablet.
Powered by 1.5GHz processor, the original Hudl did have a lot to offer for its price tag thanks to the 1GB RAM and 16GB of onboard storage. The resolution may have been a little on the not-so-impressive end of the spectrum, but for a 7-inch display 1,440 x 900 isn’t all that bad.
Hudl 2 on the other hand is far more superior to its predecessor with 1.83GHz Intel Atom quad-core processor, full HD 1080p 8.3-inch display, 2GB RAM, 5-megapixel rear-facing and a 1.2-megapixel front facing camera.
Some of the other features of the Hudl 2 include Dolby-optimised rear-facing speakers, HDMI-out, dual-band Wi-Fi, 16GB onboard storage expandable up to 48GB via a microSD card and a battery that promises 8 hours of life on a full charge.
If you can dole out £50 more i.e. £129.00 we recommend that you go for Hudl 2.
