With Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus launch having garnered a lot of attention, Microsoft is trying to drum up attention by offering more free storage on its OneDrive cloud storage platform while also leveraging on the demand in the market.
Users who sign up for a new OneDrive account can get a free storage space of 30GB upfront by just activating their OneDrive camera roll. Google increased the amount of free storage to 15 GB last year which remained in par with OneDrive until the new offer was made.
Looking at other big players in the field, Dropbox offers 2GB of free space which can be increased to a little more than 5GB by linking to the Mailbox app, inviting friends and using Dropbox Carousel. However, Google offers 15GB and now OneDrive, 30 GB for free without having to break sweat.
While Google offers 15GB for free, downloading QuickOffice on their Android or iOS devices could get users an additional 10 GB making it 25 GB.
