Nokia has finally decided to launch its Lumia 1520 Windows Phone 8 smartphone in the UK from December 6 just in time for the holiday season after launching it in France last week.
To be available from carriers O2 and Vodafone and retailers Carphone Warehouse and Phones 4U, the cheapest Lumia 1520 would be available for no upfront cost if customers are ready to shell out £38 a month through Vodafone for unlimited calls, texts and 2GB of 3G data. Those who are looking for faster 4G connectivity would be required to pay £90 upfront and then pay £48 per month.
Powered by the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, the Lumia 1520 packs 2GB RAM, 32GB internal storage expandable to 64GB, 6-inch 1080p display protected by Gorilla Glass 2, Nokia ClearBlack display technology, 20-megapixel PureView camera and a 1.2-megapixel front shooter. Microsoft is also offering 7GB storage space on SkyDrive, which will soon be renamed to something else. The Lumia 1520 will be available in Black, Glossy Red, White and Yellow.
Some of the apps that will come preloaded on Lumia 1520 include Nokia Storyteller, and Nokia HERE among others. You can check out more information about the launch in the UK on Nokia’s website here.
