Microsoft has started rolling out March Xbox One update ahead of schedule – most likely to avoid high server load issues – giving gamers plenty of time to upgrade their boxes and prep them for Titanfall launch on March 11.
“The March system update for Xbox One is starting to roll out today, addressing some of the biggest feedback you’ve shared with us”, announced Larry Hryb aka Major Nelson in his blog post.
“This update means next week you’ll be able to enjoy Titanfall on the best multiplayer service on the planet, using a new headset or the one you already own,” added Hryb.
The only promised feature that doesn’t accompany this update is the live streaming feature through Twitch. On day of Titanfall launch users will just have to download the Twitch app rather than a whole dashboard update.
The Xbox One update brings with lot many updates, features and bug fixes including improved multiplayer & party chat; improved friends list and profile; more social features; miscellaneous shell improvement; browser improvements; SmartGlass improvements; live TV and improved audio support.
Some of the noteworthy features include ability to output 5.1 Dolby Digital surround sound over both HDMI and optical connections; support for Xbox One Media Remote; support for stereo headset accessories; and 50Hz mode for the HDMI input to fix frame-judder issues in Europe.
