Microsoft starts accepting Skype Translator preview registrations

Posted on 4 November 2014

Microsoft has opened up Skype Translator preview registration programme for its limited public roll out under which members of general public will be provided access to this new feature on Skype that lets users talk in real-time via voice and video-calls even if they don’t speak the same language.

In Microsoft’s own words: “Skype Translator is a brand new feature from Skype and it’s still learning and improving the way it translates calls.”

Microsoft notes that the preview will still have a “few rough edges”, but promises that the more conversations it processes and translates, the better it will get. Another thing to keep in mind is that the Skype Translator preview is only available to Skype users on Windows 8.1 computers and tablets for now. Microsoft will add support for more operating systems and devices over the course of next few months.

For those who are not aware about this real-time translator, Skype Translator translates both sides of a conversation into the other party’s preferred language in real-time, and displays it in the form of a scrolling on-screen transcript as it happens.

Skype Translator is also capable of translating instant messages sent through Skype in 45 languages. Voice and video based translations only support a few languages for now – at least in the preview period.

The preview version of the real-time translator will support Arabic, Cantonese, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.

The smartphone finally came out in the second half of 2016. And people were amazed by the new 10 best iPhone 7 features. Many people were already familiar about some of these features. And many reputable iPhone related news outlets had predicted the iPhone 7 features list. Some of the features out of the list of 10 best iPhone 7 features were introduced by Apple. And some proved to be just rumors. Regardless of everything else, Apple has once again been able to keep its customer base loyal with the delivery of yet another incredible device. Like the previous year, this time too Apple has introduced two smartphones at the same time. One is known as the iPhone 7 and the other one is known as the iPhone 7 plus. As you would expect, iPhone 7 is the basic model, where as the iPhone 7 plus is a more advanced model of the same smartphone. iPhone 7 plus has more features and better specifications than the iPhone 7. The size of the iPhone 7 plus is also bigger than iPhone 7.
