Microsoft has released an update for its Windows 8.1 operating system to address complaints from Lenovo Miix2 8 tablet owners regarding poor battery life.
The update dubbed KB2913236 is currently limited to Lenovo’s tablet only and no other devices are being supported for now. Redmond hasn’t provided any details about why there was reduced battery life in the first place; however, it has said that “this issue occurs because the device cannot enter a low power state mode.”
Owners of Miix2 8 tablet are recommended that if they are facing such issues, they download and install the KB2913236 Windows 8.1 update. All version of Windows 8.1 are supported.
Battery issues on Windows 8.1 tablets are common including Microsoft’s very own Surface Pro, but the company has already provided workarounds to address them and restore the battery’s full capacity.
