LG has finally taken the wraps off its brand new G4 flagship smartphone in six countries through simultaneous launch events in New York, London, Paris, Singapore, Istanbul and Seoul.

The LG G4 features a 5.5-inch display with a 2560 x 1440 resolution at 538 PPI and comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. Running on a 1.8 GHz hexa-core Qualcomm MSM8992 Snapdragon 808 CPU with Adreno 418 GPU, 3GB RAM and
32GB internal storage that can expanded up to 128GB, the G4 runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system. The device is powered by a 3,000 mAh removable battery.

On the camera front, the G4 comes with a new 16-megapixel sensor with f/1.8 lens and improved image stabilization. It gets a new ‘color spectrum sensor’ with more accurate color and white balance. The smartphone equips an 8 megapixel front camera.

The maker claims that G4 is the first phone to use the new human-centric UX 4.0. It offers features like Quick Shot that allows users to take pictures without opening the camera app by just double tapping the phone’s Rear Key while the display is off. There’s a new Gallery that has been designed for faster scrolling. Event Pocket allows users to create a unified calendar by dragging and dropping appointments and activities from multiple calendars and social media sites.

The improved Smart Notice provides more personalized notifications for weather, travel and more. There’s also the Quick Help feature which allows users to search for instant answers to any questions about operating the LG G4, right in the Smart Notice widget. Furthermore, every G4 owner will get an additional 100GB of Google Drive storage free for two years. The phone will be offered in different finishes, primarily plastic or leather, available in a range of colors.

“We wanted to give consumers a truly human-centric device that combined the analog sensibilities with technologies that delivered real world performance. From the design to the camera to the display to the UX, this is the most ambitious phone we’ve ever created,” said Juno Cho, president and CEO of the LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.

The LG G4 will will be made available in South Korea, followed by other countries. There is no mention of when the device will hit the UK shores. Pricing details of the device are yet to be announced.
