LG has rolled out two new variants of its recently launched flagship G4 smartphone, dubbed ‘G4c’ and ‘G4 Stylus’. The two new G4 siblings will be shipped to retailers across the world in the coming weeks.

In terms of specifications, the G4c features a 5-inch HD display with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution, a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM; 8GB of inbuilt storage; supports expandable storage; 8-megapixel rear camera; 5-megapixel front camera and a 2540mAh battery. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, A-GPS and LTE support. The handset measures 139.7×69.8×10.2mm, and weighs 136 grams. It will be available in Metallic Grey, Ceramic White, and Shiny Gold color options.

The LG G4 Stylus features a 5.7-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS display offering a pixel density of 258ppi; 1GB of RAM; 8GB of built-in storage; expandable storage support via microSD card, 5-megapixel front camera and a 3000mAh battery (removable). Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n; Bluetooth 4.1; NFC; A-GPS; Glonass and Micro-USB. As the name suggests, the handset also includes a stylus for taking notes or doodling on the screen.

The smartphone measures 154.3×79.2×9.6mm, and weighs 163 grams. The G4 Stylus will come in LTE and 3G variants featuring slightly different specifications. The LTE model will have a 1.2GHz quad-core processor and a 13 MP rear camera while the 3G variant will feature 1.4GHz octa-core processor and an 8 MP rear camera. G4 Stylus (available as G Stylo in North America and Korea) will be available in Metallic Silver or Floral White color options.

Both the handsets will run Google’s Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system as well as a UI derived from the 2015 flagship LG G4 smartphone. The UI will have features like Knock Code, which allows users to unlock the phone by tapping a personalized ‘knock’ pattern on the display, Gesture Shot, which allows the camera to open and close a hand in front of the lens to start a three-second countdown for the shutter; and Glance View, which shows key notifications on the display when it is turned off.

Announcing the launch, Juno Cho, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company said “The G4 Stylus and G4c are perfect examples of what we mean by a premium smartphone experience without a premium price. We are committed to offering consumers in fast-growing markets LG devices that not only deliver performance, but also look good while doing so. Both the G4 Stylus and G4c will surpass customers’ expectations of what an LG phone should be.”

LG is expected to announce pricing and availability details in the next few weeks.
