LG has announced that its latest flagship G3 will be available in the UK starting this Thursday, June 26.
UK is the second market after South Korea to witness launch of G3 as LG prepares for a global availability of the handset this year. Priced at a £492 (SIM-free), the smartphone is available in quite a few monthly tariff options.
Users can opt for no upfront cost, but in that case they will have to dole out more cash for their monthly tariffs. For £38 a month, you can get unlimited UK minutes and text messages with 1GB monthly data on O2 through Carphone Warehouse. If you are ready to pay £49.99 upfront, you can get the same monthly allowances for just £33 a month.
For those who are not aware about the specifications of the LG G3: it is a 5.5-inch smartphone powered by quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801, 2GB RAM, a 538ppi Quad HD display with 1,440 x 2,560 resolution, 13-megapixel rear camera with Optical Image Stabilizer Plus (OIS+), laser auto-focus, and a 2.1-megapixel front snapper. The G3 will run Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box and it supports wireless charging as well.
The specifications put G3 at par with competing Android handsets including Galaxy S5 and HTC One M8. The G3 garnered huge success in South Korea and it remains to be seen how much sales can LG generate in the UK.
