Whether iWatch is on its way or not is not clear let alone it’s official existence, but with all the recent reports it seems like the Apple’s smartwatch might soon be a reality, and have a lot of similarities with Moto 360.
Earlier this week, analyst Brian Blair reported that the iWatch will sport round display, much like the Moto 360 and will be launched in multiple versions, targeting lower-end as well as higher-end wearables market.
The latest rumor fresh from across the Chinese shores suggests that Apple is again considering wireless charging capabilities for the iWatch, another alleged feature in Moto 360.
According to reports from Chinese media, citing sources at Apple supplier Luxshare, wireless charging coils are currently undergoing various tests at Apple and upon certification, the coils will enter production for wireless charging modules of the iWatch during the second half of the year.
Sources revealed that another foreign supplier is in talks with Apple for the wireless charging modules contract and that despite the previous leaks reporting production of iWatch, the company is still testing the device in various stages and a September or October launch is expected.
Back in December last year, reports circulated stating Apple is planning to include wireless charging capabilities in the iWatch, which will allow the smartwatch to charge from up to a meter away.
Apple has reportedly had trouble with the iWatch’s battery life, which hardly lasted longer than 1-2 days on a charge. The company is said to be trying various ways to extend the life to 4-5 days. However, the burden of frequent charges will be likely less with wireless charging.
