Apple’s shortlisted suppliers will start making the display for 4.7-inch iPhone 6, ahead of the 5.5-inch counterpart, new reports have claimed.
This time Apple has reportedly hired the capabilities of three manufacturers for manufacturing the display of its iPhone 6 including Japan Display, Sharp and LG Display and the production is expected to begin as early as May.
Apart from the hype and speculations there is little information about the reason behind the delay, but it is assumed that the delay could be because of the difficulty in manufacturing 5.5-inch in-cell touch sensor displays.
Even though it is said that the 5.5-inch display will also incorporate the in-cell touch technology, there are also chances for it being made using the same old film-sensor technology with a screen resolution of 2,560 X 1,440 pixel, 538-ppi.
Offering 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch displays would be a remarkable thing unlike the customary 4-inch displays that Apple is accustomed to. As smartphones have become mobile entertainment stations to most users, Apple may have stepped up to meet its users’ needs by opting for bigger displays this time.
With bigger displays made using the latest in-cell touch technology, iPhone 6 is expected to offer better video viewing and gaming experiences than its predecessors with smaller displays.
It is also notable that Apple’s shares have been teetering since November 2012 because a large portion of the market believes that the smartphone market might reach its saturation anytime, which cloud explain Apple’s decision to go ahead with bigger displays for iPhone 6.
