Huawei Honor 3C Play pre-orders begin in Europe

Huawei is back into the limelight with the launch of its second smartphone dubbed as the Huawei Honor 3C Play.

Targeted basically at the low-cost smartphone market, the dual-SIM 3C is expected to land at just £109.99 upon its release next week.

Powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core Cortex-A7 MediaTek (MTK6582) processor with a Mali 400 GPU, the Honor 3C Play features a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS display with OTP single screen technology, 1GB of RAM and 16GB of inbuilt storage, which is further expandable up to 32GB.

Other features include 8MP main camera with autofocus and LED Flash, a full 2MP Front-Facing Camera (FFC) for video chatting and selfies, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g / n, GPS, AGPS, Bluetooth 4.0, dual-SIM support and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with Emotions UI as its operating system.

Huawei claims that the 2300mAh battery packed in the 3C will last for more than a day’s heavy usage, and will offer around 300 hours on standby. The handset measures 142.2 x 72.3 x 9.4mm and weighs in at 156 grams.

The 3C also supports E-Books, and has a Gravity Sensor, Light Sensor, Distance Sensor, Acceleration Sensor, Compass Support as well as a built-in radio. The smartphone will be made available in Black and White color options.

“The Honor 3C is made for a digital audience who demand for new technology at affordable prices,” said Lars-Christian Weisswange, Honor’s European managing director marketing.

“The smartphone is at the centre of this always-on generation’s lives, keeping them connected with their world 24/7.”

The handset is currently up for pre-orders in Europe with shipping to begin this coming Monday, on November 24.
