HTC has unveiled its best ever selfie-smart phone dubbed ‘the HTC Desire Eye’ which has a whopping 13MP front-facing camera.
The HTC Desire Eye also has a 13-megapixel rear camera which, much like the camera on the front, is capable of shooting 1080p HD footage.
The Eye features a 5.2in 1080p HD screen, a 2.3 GHz Snapdragon quad core processor coupled with a good 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage space expandable up to 128GB using the built-in micro SD card slot. The smartphone also features HTC Boomsound speakers and a 2,400mAh battery which promises 20 hours of talk time. The new HTC Desire Eye is IPX7 water resistant and claims to survive under a meter of water for 30 minutes.
Connectivity options for the handset include Wifi, Bluetooth, NFC and 3G support. The phone will run Android Kit Kat 4.4 out of the box but will have HTC’s Sense UI over it.
The HTC Desire Eye also comes with improved image capturing software which makes use of both cameras. There’s also a Split Capture mode, which will allow users to take images using both cameras at once, and Voice Selfie, which will let users to take a mugshot by saying “say cheese” at the smartphone.
The HTC Desire Eye will be available in UK exclusively via the Three network starting November. Exact release date and pricing details for the new HTC handset are yet to be disclosed.
