Recent rumors suggest that HTC, which recently launched its HTC One M8 in an aluminum build version, is all set to release a cheaper plastic version of the phone.
HTC One M8 currently sports a metal build, which is highly praised by the users. According to the rumors, there will be no distinction between the original One M8 and the plastic version of One M8.
Rumors claim that the plastic build One M8 will be much cheaper than the metal version of the smartphone. Speculations are that the plastic version will cost around $483 – $350, while the metal build version currently retails at $850. For instance, in China where the M8 is currently retailing at around $853, the possible plastic M8 would come with a price tag of only $483.
The plastic One M8 is expected to have the same specs as the original One M8. The One M8 comes with a 5-inch display with 1,920 x 1,080 resolution and 441 pixels per inch; a 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor; 2GB RAM; 16GB or 32GB internal storage, and an expandable storage of up to 128GB.
The handset also packs features including a 5-megapixel front-facing camera; dual 4-megapixel rear camera. HTC One M8 is powered by the latest version of Android operating system, Android 4.4 KitKat.
If the rumors about this possible plastic HTC One M8 are to be believed, then the company might roll out the device by May 2014.
However, HTC is yet to confirm the plastic version of One M8 officially.
