Facebook has launched a new app dubbed ‘Stickered for Messenger’ that lets users paste emoticon stickers as overlays on snapshots.
The new app allows users to pick a photo, resize and paste a Facebook Sticker on top and share it with their friends via Messenger.
“Stickers and photos are two of the most popular ways that people express themselves on Messenger. This is a fun experiment to see how people combine the two,” Facebook noted.
Stickered for Messenger app includes 52 categories of emoticons including some cute Pikachu and Teletubbies-like emojis, a burger head man rowing a boat with his true love — lady fries, a little green chicken puking a rainbow and many more. The Facebook Like button makes an appearance, accompanied by a much needed and asked for ‘Dislike’ sticker with a thumbs-down.
Users can easily drag, pinch, stretch and rotate stickers on the selected image as well as add captions and even apply stickers before the shot is taken with the app’s built-in camera. There is no limit to how many stickers can be applied in a single image.
Developed by Facebook’s Creative Labs mobile design studio, Stickered for Messenger is not a standalone app, and requires Messenger to be able to send images to Facebook friends.
In addition, Facebook has also introduced holiday-inspired sticker packs along with a festive frame for New Year’s Eve selfies and snow globe chat heads.
The new free Stickered for Messenger app is available now on Android, and it’s said to be “coming soon” to iOS.
