Microsoft India: Cyan update for Nokia Lumia 920, 820, 720, 620 and 525 coming in September

Microsoft has confirmed Cyan update for several Nokia Lumia smartphones including Lumia 920, 820, 720, 620 and 525 starting September.

As of now, Microsoft has already rolled out the Cyan update for Nokia Lumia 625, 925, 1320 and 1520 in India. The company also kicked off the deployment of the upgrade for Nokia Lumia 520 and Lumia 1020.

Lots of Windows Phone users in India will be disappointed by the announcement, especially that previous statements coming from Microsoft India hinted to a possible release of the update this month.

The Lumia Cyan update, brings Windows Phone 8.1 that packs loads of new features and gets your phone ready for the highly sought after Cortana that will be available through Windows Phone 8.1 update.

Flooded with queries on the update, Microsoft released a table [below] that contains tentative time frame for the release of the update for several handsets.

The Lumia Cyan update is now available for Lumia 1020 in a number of Middle Eastern countries such as Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. Besides, the update is live for users in Australia, Denmark, India, Philippines and Switzerland.

Meanwhile, Lumia 1020 users in the UK from both Vodafone and O2 reported to have received Lumia Cyan firmware, reports WPCentral. The rollout begins after Microsoft India confirmed Cyan update for Lumia 1020 via Twitter.

Note that as this is a phased rollout and all Lumia 1020 users will not be able to get the update at the moment.

    Bullsh*t… 520 getting preference! I’m actually quite pissed at Microsoft about this!!! early up takers of handsets are essentially being told’ back of the line fool…’ F*uck you MOkia!!! sort your sh1t out!!! learn how to do updates like the other OS’s – not dragging it out over 4 months!!!
