BlackBerry rolls out BBM for Android, iPhone update

Posted on 15 November 2013

BlackBerry has rolled out an update to BBM for Android, iPhone whereby users with Wi-Fi-only iPad and iPod Touch will also be able to download and use BlackBerry Messenger starting Thursday.

BBM for iOS update comes with several features including support for the Wi-Fi-only iPad and iPod Touch; right-to-left language support; more sharing options; ability to find friends on other social networks. The BBM for iPhone comes with a fix for an issue wherein some users complained about missing contacts.

BBM users can now invite a person without knowing their BBM PIN to BBM groups via e-mail. BBM’s new “Tell your friends” feature will let users find their fellow BBM users through the BBM sharing Web site.

Users can easily share their BBM PIN and PIN barcode through social networking sites including Facebook and Twitter. The new update also promises performance improvements by fixing up bugs. BBM iOS updates can be availed through the Apple App Store.

The updated BBM for Android app available through Google Play will offer the same features hitting the iOS version. It will allow users to create different categories in their contact lists to organize their BBM contacts. The feature will also let users sort and filter their BBM groups.

Earlier in September when BlackBerry tried to roll out BBM for iOS and Android, but technical issues marred the launch. A leaked version of the app forced the company to delay the app’s actual launch for a month. BBM’s official iOS and Android versions which was released in October recorded a whooping 10 million downloads in just 24 hours of its release.

BBM is rubbish. I haved tried to give it one more chance – I gotta be honest BBM is still rubbish cant see what all the fuss is about. Viber & Whats app is better than BBM by far. Its full of idots and perverts. If you post you’re pin – guys presume you are single and horney. Why do guys presume that girls when they post their BBM they presume that you are single, Horney and wanting sex chat.. Then to top it of you get stupid Broadcasting messengers – and you keep getting pinged every 10 seconds – its a awful. The features on BBM is crap – when viber theres more features. Even whats App has more features.BBM maybe great for blackberry users but its not needed for iOS or Android. Whats App & Viber is far better than BBM. If people really wanted BBM then go and get a BlackBerry. Got BBM and can’t see any difference… its still CRAP!!! BBM is awful and its well overrated for what it is.. Viber & whats app are the best.
