Samsung’s much-awaited Galaxy Note Edge will finally hit UK market shelves starting December 12.
UK mobile retailer Carphone Warehouse, which has already started taking pre-orders for Samsung’s latest offering, has announced that the handset will start shipping from December 12th.
The Galaxy Note Edge is currently available for pre-order with the retailer for £58.80/month with no upfront cost, or for £749.95 SIM free in blue and white color variants.
Powered by a quad-core 2.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge features a 5.6-inch Quad-HD+ (2,560 x 1,440 pixels) Super AMOLED display, 3GB RAM, 32 and 64GB internal storage configurations (expandable via microSD card) as well as a 3,000mAh battery.
There’s a 16-megapixel autofocus rear camera with Smart OIS, and a 3.7-megapixel front-facing camera with an f/1.9 lens on board.
The Android 4.4 KitKat-running handset will be available in 4G LTE and 4G LTE Cat 6 (LTE Advanced) variants. Connectivity options of the Galaxy Note Edge include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS/ Glonass, NFC, Bluetooth v 4., IR LED, USB 2.0, and MHL 3.0. The handset measures 151.3 x 82.4 x 8.3mm and weighs 174 grams.
The most notable Galaxy Note Edge feature is its curved display which wraps around the right-hand edge of the handset and allows for quick access to frequently-used apps, alerts and device functionality – even when the cover is closed or the screen is locked.
Other UK retailers including Clove, Unlocked Mobiles, Expansys, Handtec and carrier network O2 have also confirmed taking Galaxy Note Edge pre-orders.
