Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook’s CEO, has created a page of the social networking site as a step towards fulfilling his new year’s resolution of reading a book every 15 days and called it “A Year of Books” for intellectual fulfillment and has invited 30 million users to like the page.
“My challenge for 2015 is to read a new book every other week — with an emphasis on learning about different cultures, beliefs, histories and technologies,” wrote Zuckerberg in a post.
My friend and colleague Amin Zoufonoun suggested I read and learn everything I can about a new country each week,” the Facebook CEO wrote on January 2. “I’m excited for my reading challenge. I’ve found reading books very intellectually fulfilling.”
Zuckerberg added that books allow people to go deeper inside a topic to explore it as compared to most media today. To start with, he is reading The End of Power by Moises Naim.
“The first book I will read is “The End of Power”, by Moisés Naím, a volume which explores the changing of the world through the power gained by people different than traditional ways, when the power was at the government’s, military organisations or any other forms of leaderships”, reads a post on “A Year of Books” Facebook page.
