YouTube on Thursday announced a slew of new innovative features and updates to be rolled out in the coming months at this year’s VidCon.
Making it to the list are the new features including Fan Subtitles, YouTube Creator Studio, Fan Funding, 60 frames per second video and Audio Library sound effects.
“Fan Subtitles” is a new feature introduced by YouTube that will enable users to submit subtitles for their favourite videos in different languages. The feature is currently in beta stage and will be rolled out publicly in the coming months.
There’s also a “Fan Funding” option available for users which will let them contribute money between $1 and $500 to support a creator’s channel at any time. The Fan Funding feature is already being tested by a handful of creators including Soul Pancake, The Young Turks, and “King Of Random” Grant Thompson in the US, Mexico, Japan and Australia. More countries are expected to join the list soon.
YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki also announced the “YouTube Creator Studio” app. This app as claimed will enable content creators to view analytics in real time and manage their videos from anywhere on any device. The app is currently available only on Android and will be making its way to iOS in a “week or two.”
Google’s video platform will also soon support high frame rates of 48 and 60 FPS allowing high quality and smooth images on the user end. In addition, YouTube’s Audio Library has been added with over 7,500 royalty-free sound effects and background music tracks including 42 different fart sounds.
The “Creator Credits” feature allowing creators to tag collaborators, who contributed to a particular program, is also expected to be rolled out soon.
