Microsoft has revealed that Xbox One sales to retailers has breached the 10 million mark and thanks to release of a couple of exclusives over the past two weeks and introduction of several new bundles, Redmond has claimed that its console has managed to outsell PlayStation 4 over the past two weeks.
Microsoft attributes the increase in Xbox One sales to launch of Sunset Overdrive, Assassin’s Creed Unity, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, the $50-off offer, and a range of new bundles.
“The response to this wave of blockbuster game releases and new bundles has been amazing, and sales have skyrocketed since the new price took effect on Nov. 2”, Microsoft announced. “Compared to the previous week, Xbox One sales in the US have more than tripled, which is exciting as more and more friends will be playing together this holiday.”

Microsoft’s 10 million in sales may sound impressive considering that the company had sold 5 million units as of April this year. Another factor that may have helped Microsoft ship more units is the introduction of the console in China. However, Sony on the other hand has sold a whopping 13 million units as of September this year.
According to reports, Microsoft’s Xbox One internal sales numbers shows that the console has outsold Sony’s PlayStation 4 for the past two weeks.
Another thing that is emerging since two weeks is that the console’s price point is stabilising at around $350 and as the holidays are approaching fast, we presume that there will be a series of price cuts – both by Microsoft and retailers, which should help Redmond achieve higher sales numbers.
