Twitch, the video game broadcasting service, on Tuesday announced that its official Xbox One app that will allow users to broadcast directly from their console is now live and available to download.
The news of Twitch app’s arrival for Xbox One comes from Twitch’s Twitter post, which read “Twitch app update for Xbox One will be ready at 4pm PDT today!,” which was further confirmed by Microsoft Studio’s tweet, “Looks like the @TwitchTV App is rolling out!.”
Using the Twitch app Xbox One users will be able to share live gameplay videos online with the rest of the world. They can start broadcasting their gaming session by issuing a voice command to Kinect “Xbox broadcast”.
Gamers can even invite and add friends to a private party chat directly from the chat stream and can use the notification feature so that they don’t miss any notifications or updates by those who the user follows.
Previously Xbox users could only use Twitch features, such as stream watching and clip recording but now with this updated app for the console, users will have full broadcasting capability, a feature the PS4 already has.
Co-founder and CEO of Twitch, Emmett Shear, said “It’s complete integration”.
“It’s exciting because we’ve never had the ability to broadcast from a console like this with such a deep level of integration. The concept of being able to join a broadcasters’ party is really cool, and it’s another step in the direction of interacting more closely with broadcasters.”
The app comes in time with “Titanfall” launch. The streaming service is however restricted to only Twitch Xbox Live Gold members.
