Online retailer Zavvi has introduced UK’s first price cut for the Xbox One by listing the gaming console for just £409.99 – a flat £20 discount on the recommended retail price.
Xbox One has been in short supply since it was launched globally, but the latest price cut means that the retailer may have access stock at its disposal indicating that Microsoft’s supply chain main have geared up after the initial shortage.

Microsoft, citing NPD data, claimed that December sales of the Xbox One topped those of all other consoles in the US. Xbox One managed to sell a whopping 908,000 units, while Xbox 360 sold just over 640,000 units. Despite this, PlayStation 4 has sold more units than the Xbox One and the recent price cut may be an indication that Microsoft want to catch up with PS4 sales number sooner than later.
The price cut follows a recent note by industry analyst Michael Pachter of investment firm Wedbush Morgan wherein he claimed that “It is possible that Microsoft will reduce Xbox One pricing far faster than we have forecasted.”
