Latest leaks brings to us the most-anticipated feature of Windows Phone 8.1 update – the notification centre dubbed the ‘Action Center’ for Windows Phone 8.1 that shows off alerts to users.
The feature is expected to release as part of Windows Phone 8.1 update, which is rumoured to be unveiled at Microsoft BUILD 2014 conference in April.
The screenshots were first shared by Winphollowers claiming that the images have been leaked from Microsoft’s internal email sent to Microsoft employees.
The first image confirms Windows Phone 8.1 Blue as the codename of the release, while the second image is a slide with 2 screenshots of the new action centre.
As shown in the first screenshot, when a user does the short swipe gesture from the top of the screen, a quick access bar opens up options along with the date and battery level percentage under the battery icon.
As shown in the second screenshot, when the Action Center is pulled down further, notifications from different apps are shown.
The slide deck claims the notification centre to be a central location to access all the missed notifications and apps to intelligently manage notifications, by silently adding, updating or delaying alerts depending on various factors.
This new Action Center, apart from alerting the users to new events in apps, will also give them a more centralised hub for actions with options to turn on or off – Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Airplane Mode and Driving Mode. There is also an option ‘Clear All’ on the left side to clear the entire notification list and ‘All settings’ option that includes the ability to configure the shortcuts for the four quick access tasks.
