It can be said with a lot of certainty that Microsoft is all set for a staged roll out of its Windows Phone 8.1 Developer Preview starting today as signs of such a release have already started showing up on official Microsoft Windows blog.
“Starting today, you can update your personal dev phone(s) to run Windows Phone 8.1 using the Windows Phone Preview for Developers program”, reads the excerpt of a blog post titled Windows Phone 8.1 now available on Windows Phone Preview for Developers which is yet to go live.
“Along with the tooling delivered in Visual Studio 2013 Update 2 RC, developers can now get everything they need to start building and testing Windows Phone apps…” reads the remaining of the excerpt.
If you click on the link, you will be asked for login credentials and we tried entering our developer credentials, but we never managed to access the full blog post. This means that Microsoft is still busy pushing the Windows Phone 8.1 developer preview live and as soon as it is done with the process, the blog post will show up as well.
Developers – in fact anyone with a Studio App account – will be able to download Windows Phone 8.1 Developer Preview on the day it is released. If you want to get hold on a copy of your own you can head on to our piece here to know how.
Just yesterday it was confirmed by Microsoft’s Joe Belfiore that the developer preview won’t include lock screen theming pack, but will be released at a later date.
