Facebook acquisition of WhatsApp caused a lot of ripples in the technology world and raised almost all brows across the business and corporate segment with some regulators even claiming that the acquisition would prove disastrous for privacy of users and they should leave the messaging app and adopt other secure privacy focused alternatives.
It seems that WhatsApp isn’t moved by these allegations and is striving hard to maintain the repo it has built up over the years with its strong user base and the latest WhatsApp for Android beta proves just that.
The beta app, which hasn’t hit Google Play Store yet, but is available for download from the messaging app’s website allows you to hide their ‘‘last seen’ status. This is a huge improvement in terms of users’ privacy and it was one of the most requested for feature in the messaging app.
Beyond this WhatsApp has also added features using which you can hide your profile pictures and status update from total strangers and even selected contacts.
