Watch Dogs has managed to retain its top position in UK all formats chart with a 3 per cent increase in sales week-over-week despite a declining trend in the overall video games market, new data from Gfk Chart-Track reveals.
The latest top position for Watch Dogs marks the double hat-trick for the Ubisoft title – first was from Week 22 to 24 of the year followed by the more recent one week 28 to 30. FIFA 14 on the other hand has been on the top for 7 weeks – meaning that Watch Dogs is just one week away from equaling this feat.
Elsewhere in the charts, FIFA 14 didn’t see any change and retained its second spot with 5 per cent increase in sales week-on-week as did Titanfall with its eighth spot with 3 per cent decline in sales.
Some of the biggest gainers this week include Minecraft: 360 Edition jumping from sixth to third position; The Lego Movie Videogame from twelfth to fifth with 41 per cent increase in sales; Grand Theft Auto V from eleventh to seventh.
Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition finished third up from sixth with 4 per cent increase in sales and Minecraft: PlayStation 3 Edition jumped one position to finish at sixth.
The biggest loosers were Wolfenstein: The New Order falling from fourth to twelfth; Call of Duty: Ghosts from third to ninth.
