LG’s second-generation curved handset dubbed ‘the LG G Flex 2’ is up for pre-orders in the UK through Vodafone starting Thursday, March 12.
The G Flex successor is available on the Vodafone network across a range of plans, including Vodafone’s 4G plans which include a choice of NOW TV Entertainment Pass, Sky Sports Mobile TV or Spotify Premium.
Icing on the cake is that Vodafone is offering a free LG G Watch R smartwatch with the G Flex 2. Yes, you read it right. The red network has confirmed that customers who buy the handset on one of their RED 4G plans (minimum £39.50 per month + £19 upfront) will also get an LG G Watch R at no additional cost, while stocks last.
To recap, the LG G Flex 2 features a 5.5-inch full-HD curved P-OLED display with a 1080×1920 pixels resolution and a 403ppi pixel, 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor coupled with the Adreno 430 GPU, 2GB of RAM and storage capacity of 16GB or 32GB expandable via microSD card. The single-SIM G Flex 2 runs Android 5.0 Lollipop.
There’s a rear 13.0-megapixel camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS+), dual-LED two-tone flash, and laser-guided autofocus as well as a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera on board. One of the distinctive features of the LG G Flex 2 is that it is first device to come with the Snapdragon 810 SoC.
Connectivity options include 4G LTE-A with tri-band carrier aggregation, HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth Smart Ready (Apt-X) 4.1, NFC, SlimPort, GPS/ A-GPS, GLONASS, and USB 2.0. The curved handset measure in at 149.1×75.3×7.1 – 9.4mm, weighs 152 grams, and packs a 3000mAh non-removable battery. The handset supports rapid charging feature that will let users recharge their phone from zero to 50 per cent in just 40 minutes time.
Sticking with the self-healing back feature of the original G Flex, the LG G Flex 2 can now recover from small scratches in as little as 10 seconds. The smartphone’s display comes with a customized glass cover that is said to be 20 per cent more durable than the Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
