Vodafone has officially unveiled its new entry level Android smartphone dubbed Vodafone Smart 4 Mini in the UK.
The Vodafone Smart 4 Mini is a part of the company’s Within Reach campaign, which offers low budget PAYG smartphones including the Sony Xperia E1 in purple from £80 and HTC Desire 310 from £100 when bought with a £10 top up.
The £50 Smart 4 Mini will sport a 4-inch WVGA TFT 480 x 800p resolution display and be powered by on a 1.3GHz dual-core processor. The new smartphone will pack 512MB of RAM, a 3.2-megapixel camera in the rear and 4GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card.
The handset runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and is said to support 3G connectivity and is equipped with all the other key connectivity features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. However, it does not support NFC capabilities and 4G connectivity.
Selfie lovers will be disappointed as the handset lacks front facing camera and the rear camera also lacks flash support.
The company also said “Pay as you go customers buying their first Freedom Freebee will receive a 30 day unlimited UK data allowance – so they can find their feet with everything their new smartphone has to offer.”
The Vodafone Smart 4 mini is available in the market starting today in either black or white color options with a price tag of £50 (€60 / $85) on PAYG (pay as you go).
