VideoLAN’s popular VLC media player has been available as private beta to registered users, but it seems that someone has leaked the full beta of the app and made it available for everyone to download.
“VLC media player is a portable, free and open-source, cross-platform media player and streaming media server written by the VideoLAN project. VLC media player supports most audio and video compression formats, files and streaming protocols. This version is the fist beta of the port of VLC media player to the Windows Phone platform. This is the first version of the port to Windows Phone,” the app description reads.
Notable for its widespread compatibility, the VLC media player supports most audio (including FLAC and MPC) and video (including mkv and ogg) compression formats, files and streaming protocols. The 10MB app is only available to all Windows Phone 8.1 users.
This is still an unfinished beta version, which is prone to crashes and other issues. The app is available in few regions only and as this is not an official release, we would recommend you not to download it.
