If recent reports are to believe then Chinese manufacturer Vivo might soon snatch the title of producing the world’s slimmest smartphone from current title holder Oppo.
A recent Weibo post was spotted showcasing glimpse of a smartphone by Vivo that’s just 3.85mm thick. In one of the posted images, the mysterious Vivo device has been shown placed next to Apple’s iPhone 5S, making the claim that the alleged handset is just one half the width of the 7.6mm-wide Apple device.
Apart from handset’s apparent thinness, Vivo is mum about the device’s highlighted specs and hardware specifications, so we do hope that the Chinese handset maker will reveal more details about the handset in months to come.
China-based smartphone maker Oppo recently garnered attention with the launch of R5, a phone that’s just 4.85mm (about 0.19 inches) thick. Touted as the slimmest smartphone on planet, the R5 features a 5.5-inch AMOLED Full HD screen, an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor clocked at 1.5GHz, 16GB of storage and 2GB of RAM.
Unfortunately, for being an ultra slim phone, Oppo’s R5 lacks in two main smartphone features – a microSD slot and an audio jack headphone.
It seems Vivo’s mysterious smart phone could surely suffer same core issues attached to a slim smartphone.
