The Verizon HTC One remains one of the most elusive Smartphones of the year so far, with neither Verizon nor HTC willing to spill the beans on what’s to come or when. As such, those who for some reason are insistent on holding out for the Big Red One have been forced to dig and search for their own clues and hints as to when it might actually see its promised summer launch.
Most have of course come up with nothing, but at least one example picked up on this week could be the smoking gun thousands have been looking for. And if all the pieces of the puzzle come together, the Verizon HTC One may launch by the end of the month.
Plenty of folks have been making the most of a generous Google Play Store offer which has been offering buyers of the HTC One a free $25 voucher to be used on anything in the store. Now, this offer was due to finish on July 15th though will now for no given reasons be running until the 30th.
Not too compelling in its own right admittedly, but the Verizon version of the HTC One is also listed in one of the menus on the site which leads us to believe that its release date will happen before the offer expires.
What’s more, the HTC One Android 4.2 update has now made its way out to existing One owners meaning that if this is the reason Verizon was held back, it’s all systems go from here on in.
Of course, none of the above amounts to confirmation and we’re still awaiting any reply from Verizon and HTC, so watch this space for further details as they emerge.
