Twitter is testing visual redesign of its profile pages giving them a look and feel similar to those of Facebook and Google+.
According to Mashable, the bio and the main picture on the new profile page have been moved to the left, underneath which are the ‘Who to Follow’, and ‘Trending’ sections.
The new design focused more on photos and content making the interface look similar to Pinterest. The recommended header photo size in the test version has been increased to 1500 x 500 pixels, up from 1252 x 626 in the current design.
Tweets on the new profile page no longer run vertically in a single column, instead tweets have been assembled in a card-like or tile-style layout. Below the cover photos users can find tweets, photos/videos, following, followers, favorites, lists and other familiar tabs.
It appears that Twitter’s handy toolbar at the top is the only thing that has been kept unchanged in the redesign. It’s the same with buttons for home, connect, discover, search, direct message, settings, compose tweet, etc.
The company hasn’t official commented on the redesign story yet.
