Tesco has announced its collaboration with global technology giant, Verizon, migrating into a single global network infrastructure. The deal will underpin the retailing company’s ongoing application and infrastructure centralisation program.
As part of the deal, Verizon will offer secure connectivity to link Tesco’s suppliers, partners, customers and colleagues across 12 countries. Tesco expects the new network deal will help in rolling-out new technologies and building new projects, including customer Wi-Fi in stores and global desktop solutions.
Group Infrastructure IT Director at Tesco Stores Limited, Tomas Kadlec, said, “Verizon is helping us to consolidate, centralise and converge our infrastructure across the world. This marks a step change for Tesco in terms of both security and managed networked services. The cutover to the Verizon network has gone exceptionally well, according to plan and within the agreed framework.”
