Chinese developer group TaiG has released an updated version of its iOS 8.3 jailbreak tool that packs the fully updated Cydia and mobile substrate making it possible for users to install tweaks and other apps that are otherwise not possible to install on a non-jailbroken iPad / iPhone / iPod Touch.
TaiG released the original iOS 8.3 jailbreak tool earlier this week, but because it did so without any prior notification to Jay Freeman (Saurik) – the creator of Cydia – the jailbreak didn’t have a compatible Cydia and neither was mobile substrate updated. This meant that even though users could jailbreak their iDevice, they can’t install any tweaks or apps because Cydia wasn’t still compatible.
This changed with release of TaiG 2.1.2 for iOS 8.3. Along with updated Cydia and Mobile Substrate, the tool also features fixes for problems of getting stuck at 20% and 60%; fix for issues of UIcache; and corrects the blank Settings problem while matching Apple Watch with iDevice.
TaiG also note that the iOS 8.3 jailbreak tool has been updated to support latest iTunes as well.
One thing that TaiG still hasn’t done is release a Mac OS X app for Mac users. It has been been more than a couple of days since the original Windows version was released and its high time now as Mac users are eagerly awaiting a Mac based tool.
