After multiple Sky Go and BBC iPlayer users complained about their inability to stream shows through the app, both BBC and Sky have confirmed that they are investigating the issue.
The outage is seemingly limited to iOS users of the apps. Users have reported seeing messages about Client Server Certificate issues and Sky has acknowledged the issue stating that they are already working on a fix to resolve the issue.
“We are currently experiencing an issue with Sky Go on iPhone, iPad and iPod. You will see a ‘Video Unavailable’ error message while trying to watch any content. We’re really sorry about the issue and we’re working very hard to get it fixed for you. Thank you for your patience and understanding”, said Sky.
BBC also acknowledged an issue with its iPlayer: “We are aware of reports from users encountering an ‘Insufficient Bandwidth’ error message when attempting to play programmes through the iPad app.”
Some Sky Go users claim to have a work around that will get the app working just fine – roll the time back by 48 hours and the app starts working.
