Stores across the UK re-opened at midnight to sell the first copies of Call of Duty: Ghosts to eager fans queuing outside stores as early as 21:30.
The Call of Duty: Ghosts is the tenth game in the franchise and it is believed that COD is being played by over 40 million gamers worldwide. According to reports, some stores let those standing in queues to enter the store at around 23:00 because of low temperatures, but were not allowed to leave the store before midnight. GAME re-opened more than 300 of its stores across UK to sell COD: Ghosts.
Many fans waiting in line to get their hands onto the latest game in the franchise revealed that this waiting in queue has become more of a yearly ritual. “Queuing up for the new Call of Duty game is a yearly routine for me. I play it about three hours a day, but sometimes all day if I get too addicted”, said one eager fan notes Mirror.

“This is my sixth year queuing up for the new Call of Duty. I absolutely would not waste my time queuing for any other games. I will go home and unashamedly play the game until sunlight”, said another.
A red-carpet event was hosted by Activision Publishing on Monday night at the IndigO2 in London marking the launch wherein celebrities took part in a multiplayer tournament. England footballer Daniel Sturridge was part of a team of six which won the tournament notes Sky News.
