Sony announced a variant of its Xperia Z1 and has aptly named it Xperia Z1S.
The newly announced smartphone, which will be available for preorder in the US starting January 13, will be exclusively available on T-Mobile.
Made with premium materials, the Xperia Z1S comes with an IP58 rating thereby making the handset Sony’s first waterproof smartphone in the US. The smartphone packs a 20.7-megapixel rear camera, BIONZ for mobile image processing engine, Sony G Lens, 5-inch Full HD TRILUMINOS Display, X-Reality for mobile.
Sony is offering unique entertainment offer with each Xperia Z1S wherein you will get six movies to download from Video Unlimited including Captain Phillips on the day of its digital release, 10 preselected PlayStation Mobile games, and 60-day free trial of Music Unlimited.
“As a waterproof smartphone complete with the best of Sony’s technology, Xperia Z1S breaks the mold of not only what you can do with a smartphone, but where you can take it,” said Ravi Nookala, President, Sony Mobile Communications US.
The Xperia Z1S will also come with a bunch of applications called Xperia Camera Apps including Info-eye, Timeshift burst, AR effects, Social live, and Background defocus.
