Sony’s newest addition to the Xperia smartphone series dubbed ‘Xperia E4’ is currently up for pre-orders in the U.K. through smartphone retailer Clove.
Priced at just £99 (approx. $150) on pre-order, the Xperia E4 is expected to begin shipping in late March in both black and white color options. The official pricing details of the handset is yet to be announced.
The Xperia E4 features a 5-inch qHD display made up of “scratch-resistant glass”, a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6582 quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, up to 8 GB of flash memory, and a microSD slot.
There’s a 5-megapixel camera on the rear and a 2-megapixel front-facing snapper on board. The handset runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat, and Sony’s made no mention of an upgrade to Android 5.0 Lollipop thus far. The Xperia E4 also uses Sony’s 3D Surround Sound technology and xLoud Experience.
The USP of the new Xperia E4 device is its long battery life. Sony claims that the phone’s 2300 mAh battery could last up to two days without charging. In addition, users could also activate the Battery STAMINA Mode and Ultra STAMINA Mode to keep the device last for a longer time.
Auto scene recognition, full HD video recording at 1080p, High Dynamic Range for photos, image stabilizer, and geotagging are some of the handset’s other features. The dimensions of the new Xperia E4 are 137 x 74.6 x 10.5 mm and it weighs 144 grams.
The Xperia E4 is expected to witness a full coming-out party at MWC 2015, which begins on March 1 in Barcelona.
