Sony will publicly release its PlayStation 4 in North America on November 15 and before the console lands Sony wants to answer as many questions as possible through its newly published PlayStation 4 ‘Ultimate FAQ’ for North America.
Some of the topics that Sony has addressed through this giant FAQ include PlayStation 4 system details, games line-up, policies on used games and sharing, peripherals and accessories, DUALSHOCK 4, PlayStation 4 camera, PS Store and Digital games and PS Plus & Online multiplayer among others.
Sony has once again detailed the release dates for the console in different parts of the world including North America, Europe, Latin America, Japan, and Asia regions. The console will first see light of the day in North America on November 15 followed by November 29 release in Europe and Latin America. Japan will see the console launch in February 2014.
Sony has revealed that users will be replace the PlayStation 4’s standard SATA II hard drive; however they won’t be able to connect an external hard drive to expand the storage of PS4 as this feature is not supported.
PlayStation 4 is all about high-definition video and because of that the console doesn’t support anything other than an HDMI for connectivity to HDTV. Sony has provided an extra Digital Out for all those sound buffs who have high voltage speakers at their disposal.
Sony has lifted the 100 friend limit and extended it to 2000. PS3 will only support 100 friends at one time and if you do have more than 100 friends, Sony notes that “network servers will automatically filter your friend’s list when you play on a PS3 system.” In a bid to prevent auto filtering of friends, PS4 users do have the option to “set and lock a pre-determined friends list to be used while you play on the PS3 system.”
Another important thing to keep in mind is that PlayStation 4 is not backwards compatible, but Sony notes that those users who already PS Store games that are being ported to PS4 are in luck because they will be able to download the titles without any extra charge.
