Sony on Thursday announced the PlayStation Network will be down for an estimated seven hours on Monday, October 13 to undergo routine maintenance work. The routine maintenance is slated to take place from 10am Pacific Time until 5pm Pacific Time on the same day.
In Europe, the maintenance period is scheduled to run from 6pm BST next Monday until 1am BST on Tuesday October 14.
“During this time we will deploy a series of back-end improvements to the network,” Sony wrote on its website.
Sony announced gamers those who signed in to the network any time since Wednesday will be able to play PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita games online and access Netflix and other entertainment apps during the maintenance period.
The PlayStation Store, PlayStation Home, and Account Management will however remain offline during the seven hour maintenance bracket and users may receive a maintenance notification when attempting to access these services.
“We thank you for your patience and support and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause,” Sony said.
It is still unclear what element of PSN will witness a change.
