Rebellion has made it to the top of UK all formats chart with its third installment of Sniper Elite franchise pushing EA Sports UFC to third place.
Available for all four current and previous generation gaming consoles, Sniper Elite 3 on PS4/Xbox One accounted for 65 percent sales.
EA Sports UFC couldn’t uproot Watch Dogs from its second place from last week and had to be satisfied with third. This was primarily because UFC saw a decline of 58 percent sales week-on-week as compared to Watch Dogs’ 22 percent.
Titanfall, Wolfenstein: The New Order and FIFA 14 each fell one position as compared to last week to finish at fourth, fifth and sixth respectively. Elsewhere, Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition and Minecraft: PlayStation 3 Edition traded their ninth and then positions.
The charts also saw a second debutant at number 7 in the form of Grid Autosport from Codemasters. Call of Duty: Ghosts also maintained its eighth position whereas 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil was pushed five positions down to eleventh.
Transformers: Rise of The Dark Spark only managed twelfth position on its debut.
Sniper Elite 3 has been in the news earlier for all the wrong reasons. It was brought to Valve’s attention that stolen Steam keys for the game had found their way to retailers from where they were sold to users. Valve revoked all the keys and blocked game access for all those users who had used the stolen keys.
“We believe these keys were then resold to multiple companies, with no payments going to either Valve or the retail distributor. Steam were immediately informed and have now revoked that set of keys”, said Rebellion in a statement.
Affected users have been offered target Hitler DLC for free and they have been asked to demand a refund for the keys from their respective vendors.
