A new photo iOS-only app partially funded by Justin Bieber – Shots of Me – that supports sharing of selfies was recently launched and is available for all iOS devices.
The app developed by RockLive, will display photos and pictures taken by people holding their smartphones at arm’s length. The app’s menu options let users to find and follow people, view their profile, send messages to others, and even keep a check of their own follower count.
The app will display only those pictures which are captured in-app and not the ones taken with an iOS device’s camera or imported in. The pictures need to be clicked only using the front camera and not the rear one. The app does not allow people to comment or publicly state their thoughts on other’s selfies eliminating chances of cyber bulling. Instead of comments Shots of Me is equipped with a direct messaging system.
Justin Bieber is believed to have contributed the “majority” of a $1.1m (£691,000) funding round. If Bieber successfully convinces some of his 57 million Facebook fans and 47 million Twitter followers to use the app, then Shots of Me might become a huge hit.
