Samsung’s recently rolled out teaser for an April event, showcasing the words “Kapture the Moment” hints a new camera-based smartphone.
If previous rumors are to be believed then the “Kapture the Moment” slogan in the teaser could refer to a Galaxy S5 spin-off dubbed the K Zoom or Galaxy S5 Zoom.
Samsung Mobile’s official Twitter handle shared the official teaser of the event through a tweet that read, “Kapture the moment. April 29. Mark your calendars!”
The electronics giant has already begun sending out invitation for the launch event, Samsung Media Day, which is scheduled to be held in Singapore on April 29 at the Red Dot Design Museum.
Images of Samsung’s alleged next mobile and camera hybrid device was leaked last week on SamMobile. According to the leaked report, the Galaxy S5 Zoom is expected to feature a 4.8-inch HD display, a quad-core ARM Mali-T624 GPU, 2GB RAM and powered by Android 4.4.2 KitKat.
The device is expected to use the Samsung-designed Exynos 5260 hexa-core processor and ARM’s big.LITTLE HMP technology – including two 1.7GHz Cortex-A15 cores and four 1.3GHz Cortex-A7 cores.
Recent reports also suggest that the new device has passed through the FCC by the model number SM-C115, which confirms that the SM-C115 will come with support for NFC and LTE connectivity.
The Galaxy K Zoom is said to pack a 20.2-megapixel camera sensor with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS), Xenon Flash, a 10x optical zoom, and a 2.1-megapixel front facing camera. The smartphone will also feature a physical camera shutter button and a throttle to control the zoom, making it easier to take pictures.
Samsung is expected to reveal more information including specifications, pricing and availability of the new device at the Singapore event to happen on April 29.
