Samsung’s latest Galaxy S3 Slim, a variant of the company’s previously launched Galaxy S3, has appeared on company’s Brazilian website.
With specifications similar to its predecessor, Galaxy S3 Slim packs 4.5-inch TFT display with a resolution of 960 x 540, 1GB RAM, 1.2GHz quad-core processor and 8GB internal storage expandable to 32GB through a microSD card slot.
The new smartphone has an 5-megapixel main camera and a secondary one that shoots at VGA resolution. On the connectivity part, the handset, powered by a 2100mAh battery, supports Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth, Micro-USB, AGPS and 3G connectivity options. The device supports a micro-SIM card, instead of the regular SIM size.
Samsung Galaxy S3 Slim runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, however, Android 4.4.2 KitKat, update is expected sometime next month. The handset weighs 139 gr. and is 9.7 mm thick. The S3 Slim is available in black and white color variants. Pricing details of the phone still remains to be a mystery at this moment.
Samsung recently announced a compact variant of the smartphone dubbed the Galaxy S III mini Value Edition that is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core Cortex A9 processor, runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box. The S III mini Value Edition comes with a 4-inch display with a resolution of 480×800 (WVGA) pixels alongside 1GB of RAM.
The smartphone features a 5-megapixel rear camera and a VGA front-facing camera. It includes 8GB of built-in storage, expandable up to 32GB via microSD card.
Samsung is yet to announce the availability of Galaxy S3 Slim in other territories.
