Samsung has officially announced an Iron Man-themed version of its Galaxy S6 edge smartphone.
The limited edition smartphone comes as a part of Samsung’s tie-up with Marvel for the Avengers: Age of Ultron movie. The sequel to 2012’s The Avengers, dubbed Avengers: Age of Ultron is the eleventh installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Iron Man, played by Robert Downey Jr, is a main character in the Marvel universe. The strategic collaboration between the two companies is mostly designed to integrate innovative Samsung technologies and products into the Marvel film.
The front and rear panels of the Galaxy S6 Edge Iron Man Limited Edition are colored in dark red, while the side bezels sport a golden finish. Additionally, the rear panel features a monochrome Iron-Man mask image. The smartphone box is also red, with gold writing and a gold Iron Man image on the top, and packs an awesome-looking Iron Man-themed wireless charger as well as a Clear View Cover for the phone.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Iron Man Limited Edition features the same specifications as the regular Galaxy S6 Edge. The only difference between the two siblings is the amount of internal storage: the former comes with 64 GB standard, while the latter can also be had with 32 GB and 128 GB of internal storage.
To recap, the Galaxy S6 Edge features 5.1-inch Quad HD (1,440 × 2,560 pixels) Super AMOLED display with a pixel density of 577 ppi. The handset is powered by a 64-bit octa-core (quad-core 2.1GHz+ quad-core 1.5GHz) Exynos 7420 SoC coupled with 3GB of RAM (LPDDR4) and runs Android 5.0 Lollipop. There is a 16-megapixel rear camera with OIS (optical image stabilisation) and LED flash while there is a 5-megapixel front camera on board. The Samsung Galaxy Edge is 7.0mm, weighs 132g and has a 2,600mAh battery.
In terms of connectivity, the handset supports LTE Cat.6 (300/50Mbps), WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4/5GHz), HT80 MIMO(2×2) 620Mbps, Bluetooth v4.1, USB 2.0, NFC and an IR Remote.

The smartphone will be available in Korea starting May 27, 2015 and is slated to land in China and Hong Kong in June. There’s no word on whether the Iron Man themed smartphone will be rolled out in U.K.
