Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 4 series, earlier expected to be revealed at the MWC 2014 in February, was finally launched on Tuesday.
The new Galaxy Tab 4 series includes three different devices the Galaxy Tab 4 7.0, Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 and Galaxy Tab 4 10.1. Each of the devices is thinner and lighter than its Tab 3 predecessor.
First on the list – Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0, the smallest of the lot, sports a 7-inch display with a resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels. Powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, the slate runs Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box.
The device will feature a 3-megapixel rear camera, 1.3-megapixel front facing sensor, 1.5 GB of RAM and 8 or 16 GB of internal memory. Available in LTE and Wi-Fi-only variants, the slate measures 107.9mm x 186.9mm x 9mm and weighs 276g.
Second in the Galaxy Tab 4 series is the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0. As the name suggests, the slate will feature an 8-inch display with a resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels.

The slate runs on Android 4.4 KitKat and comes with a 4,450mAh battery. The Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 measures 124mm x 210mm x 7.95mm and weighs 320 grams.
Last in the series, the Samsung Galaxy Tab4 10.1 is the biggest among the trio. The tablet will ship with a 10.1-inch WXGA display of 1,280 x 800 resolution. Powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, the slate runs Android 4.4 KitKat.

Last month, the company inadvertently slipped out that the Galaxy Tab 4 series is all set to launch, while advertising its Gear Fit. The advertisement claimed that the Gear Fit can sync with Galaxy Tab 4 (10.1/8.0/7.0).
The new Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 lineup is expected to be available all across the globe at the start of Q2 this year with only two color options- Black and White. However, the pricing information is yet to be announced.
